Recycling Drop-Off Center
Overview
The City's Recycling Drop-off Center hours of operation are Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 10 am to 2 pm. The Recycling Center is closed when City Hall is closed for holidays. See the City Calendar.
The Center is located at 500 Bushkill Drive, just west of the 4th Street exit ramp in downtown Easton. Patrons should drive carefully through the complex and follow the designated recycling lane that will lead to the drop-off center. The Center will collect all of the same recyclable materials that are collected curbside. Recycling containers can be purchased at the Finance Office in City Hall.
Materials for Recycling
Commingled - Plastic / Glass / Cans
Plastic Containers - Number 1(PETE), Number 2 (HDPE), Number 3 (V), Number 4 (LDPE), Number 5 (PP), Number 6 (PS), and Number 7 (Other Glass - Green, brown and clear glass only. Cans - Aluminum and tin: Clean all containers and remove all caps and lids. Labels do not need to be removed. Aerosol cans must be empty.
Mixed Fiber
Paper Products - Newspapers, Magazines, Paper, and Junk mail: Includes colored advertisements, any junk mail, envelopes (with or without plastic windows), and single-layer cardboard boxes such as cereal boxes, cracker boxes, pasta boxes, etc. No food-contaminated boxes such as pizza or juice cartons.
Cardboard
Do not include single-layer boxes such as cereal, pizza, crackers, etc. Also, no wax-coated boxes, gable-top cartons (milk and orange juice), or boxes that are food, paint, or oil contaminated. You do not need to break down your cardboard for the compactor.
Brush & Yard Waste
Equivalent of 2 bags or 2 cans of brush and yard waste, no more than 40 lbs. each, may be dropped off at the city recycling center, located at 500 Bushkill Drive between the hours of 10 am to 2 pm on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday. Seasonal evening pickup may also be available by calling 610-250-6680. There is no limit on leaf drop-off. No grass clippings will be accepted.
The City of Easton's Recycling Drop-off Center is open to both residents and businesses for the drop-off of acceptable recyclable materials only. The City will also accept leaves and yard waste during business hours.
Unacceptable Materials for Recycling
The following materials are not acceptable and should not be mixed with your recyclables:
- Bound books
- Ceramics, dishes, coffee cups, drinking glasses
- Coat hangers
- Containers of hazardous or toxic materials
- Food waste, garbage
- Glass cookware/bakeware (Pyrex, Vision Ware, etc.)
- Household appliances
- Paper cartons for milk or juice (gable-top cartons)
- Plastic bags
- Styrofoam containers, packaging, or packaging peanuts
- Take out containers, plastic cups, plastic tableware
- Tissue or paper towels
- Toys
- Wax coated boxes
- Window glass, mirrors, light bulbs
