Brownfields Cleanup Alternatives

The City of Easton (City), in partnership with Northampton County and the Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corporation, is inviting public comments on the following DRAFT Analysis of Brownfield Cleanup Alternatives (DRAFT ABCA) related to the proposed remediation of the former Easton Iron and Metal site (Site) located at 1100-1164 Bushkill Drive, Easton, PA. 

 The Site is proposed to be remediated through grant and loan funds provided by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Brownfield Cleanup Grant and Brownfield Cleanup Revolving Loan Fund programs. Per the terms of the City’s Brownfield Cleanup Grant Cooperative Agreement with EPA, the City has created an electronic information repository where administrative documents related to the project can be reviewed by the public. The DRAFT ABCA is being made available for public review via the electronic information repository.

 The City will accept public comments on the DRAFT ABCA for a 30-day period beginning 5/1/2025 and ending on 5/31/2025. Public comments will only be accepted via email and should be submitted to the Community & Economic Development Director John Kingsley at jkingsley@easton-pa.gov.

 After the close of the public comment period, the City will post written responses to all comments received during the public comment period, as well as the FINAL ABCA, to the public electronic information repository.
